The idea
The 27-0 Challenge is a football management experiment with one brutal objective: win all 27 games of an NFL-style season. In real football no NFL team has ever won every game in a single season — the 1972 Miami Dolphins went 17-0, including the Super Bowl, and remain the only undefeated champions in history. The challenge takes that dream and stretches it to 27 games: twenty-four regular-season weeks plus a Divisional Playoff, a Conference Championship and the Super Bowl.
How it plays
You start by choosing one of twelve NFL-style franchises in three tiers. Every team carries offense, defense, quarterback, coaching, salary cap, injury risk and chemistry ratings — plus a named weakness. Then you manage the season in bursts of games interrupted by ten decision points: a QB shoulder injury, a star receiver holdout, the trade deadline, bye-week strategy, a snow game, media pressure and the playoff gauntlet.
Why decisions, not play-by-play
The 27-0 Challenge Engine deliberately does not simulate every down. Real NFL seasons are won in the margins: who plays hurt, when you trade draft picks for depth, how the locker room holds together at 20-0. The game strips football down to those management calls — which is why two coaches with the same team and same seed can finish with completely different records.
The difficulty curve
The opening weeks are soft. The middle of the season turns real. The final six weeks are brutal, and the playoffs are elite. Most strong runs end at 24-3, 25-2 or 26-1 — one loss from the dream. Only a perfect 27-0 season unlocks the legendary ending: Coach Rating 99 and Legacy: IMMORTAL.
